Anna Maria and Jacob Bohrer came to America from Canton Solothurn, Switzerland in 1852. They settled on a farm in Lafayette Township near Lansing, Iowa in Allamakee County. All seven of their children born in Switzerland, came with them.
The farm is still owned by a fifth generation family member on Lafayette Ridge Drive.
